Jo Rees's handwriting reading hello.

I'm Jo and  I love stories. I always have. I love reading them, hearing them, watching them, but most of all, I love writing them. I always try and write the kind of books I want to read, the kind of books that are packed with a mix of page-turning, twisty, escapist plots, and peppered with mystery and surprise, these books are written to make your heart race, and draw you into a maze of untold family secrets, suspicion, complex romance, infidelity, deception and psychological suspense.

My writing journey started when I was six years old.  At the weekends, we’d often drive to see my grandmother and my sister would want to read in the car, but I’d want to talk about what I could see.  My Mum (a teacher) gave me a notebook and pencil and told me to write it all down.  Thanks to my very patient Nanna, who listened to my ramblings at the other end of the journey, I discovered (possibly for the wrong reasons) that I could entertain other people through words.

Writing is something I've been doing ever since. And, as I always suspected it might — see my note about being a sucker for romance above! — by following my destiny and my great dream to be a writer, I found the man I would later marry. We met writing a 'he said/she said' book together and got engaged before we'd even written 'The End'.

We now live in Brighton with our three teenage daughters and our beloved dog, Ziggy, who keeps us sane and makes us take him for long walks down by the sea every day, where you'll often find me picnicking and swimming too.

I hope you enjoy reading these books as much as I enjoyed writing them and if there's anything else you want to know, please do feel free to contact me here, or subscribe to my newsletter here.
